There was the mad hunt for good-hechshered sushi that ended up in a cross-town adventure and an inadvertent shiur (lecture) by an angry cab driver, the wonder of being the only ones on the beach wearing long-sleeves, davening Mincha with the crash of the Mediterranean to your back, the tznius-wear and snood-donning fashion show and the stop-in at the American Apparel store labeled "Straight From L.A."
Even still, Lauren, Lisa and I had the best adventure that three recovering cynical hipsters could have had in Israel's Gashmius (material) capital. Without breaking the bank, our pride or our taiva (appetite) for Yerushalayim, our modest outing just might have to become a regular event.
Especially now that we know exactly where to find the sushi!
